Day 7 - April 14, 2007

I slept in late this morning (till 7:30). I got ready and threw in a load of towels and wash cloths then went to breakfast at Cueva Del Chango, which is off of 5th Avenue past 32nd and the Real hotel. It has the cutest atmosphere and the best tortillas I ever had. I had Huevos Rancheros and a Pineapple Orange yogurt smoothie for $6.00. I might have to go there again even though it´s very far.

There were lots of stray dogs in this area that looked like they had mange, but they were sooo cute.

Playa Lingua
I stopped at Playa Lingua on my way back from breakfast and enrolled in class for next week. Time to start nueva escuela! Classes end earlier because you get a shorter break. Also, private lessons are only $24 per session and if I want, I can enroll in some of those as well.

Annemarie said that many people recommended Playa Lingua to her. I would have gone there in the first place if they acknowledged me when I stopped by in December. The girl was too busy flirting with some guy to help me.

I feel better knowing that this place is recommended. Solexico looked good too and they have a fun atmosphere, but it's very, very far.

Xaman Ha Bird Aviary
I stopped at the condo to take the towels out of the washer and let them air dry. Then, I walked to the bird aviary in Playacar. It´s $15.00 to get in, which is a rip off (should be $5.00 at the most) but it was very cool. I got some good pics, but my batteries went dead, so I have to re-charge.

Manicure
I stopped for a manicure at Kristine´s salon near the condo.

Afternoon
By now it´s 1:00, so I headed over to the ferry dock area to sit on my favorite bench, but some guy was there, so I had to share. LOL I ate my lunch and we talked. There´s a boat that was abandoned on shore and he told me that it was Cuban refugees who came to Cozumel and then to Playa. They made an engine out of a lawn mower engine. It was smelly too.

It´s pretty windy today and my shorts keep falling down (Mandy, I got them with you at Old Navy). Good thing that I have a long top on.

Blog
After I blogged in the smoky Internet Cafe', I got a really bad migraine. It just wouldn't go away, so I took a nap before dinner.

Dinner
When the taxi driver dropped me off from the Bahia Principe the other day, I saw a very busy local restaurant called El Serrape, so I went there for dinner. My waiter spoke good English and looked Asian. Turns out that his father was Chinese, but he's from Mexico City. There was one other group of Americans there. I had a dish similar to fajitas. It was beef, chicken, green peppers and onions cooked with melted cheese and served with tortillas. It was good, but I like H.C. Monterrey better. My meal was $7.00.

As I walked back to PDC, people even commented to me that I didn't look well.

Maria
Maria is the only female Mayan Palace rep and she went to Oak Park, IL High School. Talk about a weird coincidence. I found out from her that the Mayan Palace reps were given The Law of Attraction DVD's. That's how they know about it. We talked for a long time. It's too weird that she used to live near our old neighborhood.

Maria told me that one of the Mayan Palace Reps is on America's Most Wanted. She should turn him in. I bet there's a big reward. Hmmm!....maybe I should!

Doctor
Every day I see this young guy jogging in the morning and hanging out in the evenings. I finally asked him what he was doing. He told me that he was studying to be a doctor and had one more year. He said he hangs around to see if anyone needs assistance.

Later, when I was talking to Maria, he came buy and was totally wasted. His eyes were like little slits and we were making fun of him. Then, he told Maria that he was going to school to be a Dentist! I say, loco gringo, except that he's from Colorado.

He also told us that he doesn´t like hanging out with any one person very long whether it´s his mother, girlfriend, etc. Sounds like a real catch! LOL

Migraine
I grabbed a Chai Tea and went in early because my head was making me very sick even though I took Tylenol and a Zomig.

I just finally got to sit down and read your blog today. I feel like I'm reading a book and I can't wait to get some time to sit down and read about the character. Gina I think you will see this so thanks for adding and then subtracting my first "comment" and quit showing off with the Spanish - you two will be impossible to be around until I enroll in my Spanish class (but I can't retain anything so it will probably be a waste of money just like high school) I hope your dinner was good - you didn't comment on it. Hurry up and get blogging again. love you and miss you

Aunt Char, I love reading YOUR comments. I didn´t finish blogging, but will today. More pics too.

Yes, I´m glad that Gina helped you out. She told me that she did.

Don´t worry. No habla español. You´ll probably speak it better than I can.

Don´t you especially miss my daily phone calls? Bet your lonely. LOL

Oh, and Aunt Char. If I don´t mention a specific meal, that means that I ate the food that I brought with me or that I bought at Wal-Mart.
