Day 12 - April 19, 2007

It was a bit chilly again this morning. Every time it´s cold out, the water in the shower doesn´t get hot. It´s very odd.

¿El Doctor or La Dentista?
The Doctor-dude saw me walking to school and I laughed because he was wearing a Stethoscope around his neck. He asked me why I never hang out with him (gee, I wonder why?!?). Then, he walked with me to la escuela.

He was looking for a nuevo apartmento. He said he saw one for $250 per month. I bet it´s real nice!

Class
Sometimes our teacher is a little loco. He is always taking some type of pills. He tells us that they are filled with salsa or orange juice, or other things. We just look at each other and laugh.

The teacher asked me ¨How many good looking guys are there in Playa?¨ I was going to answer ¨cero,¨but Mark and Uli kept pointing to each other.

Our teacher invited us to listen to him sing tonight at one of the restaurants. He said they have a special of 3 Mojitos for the price of 2.

During break I bought Pablo his birthday present.

Private Lesson
I took another private lesson with Lu Lu, which was helpful. At the end, she asked me if I had any questions, and I thought she asked me if I was pregnant! It´s the darn food baby that´s on my mind! Well, I´ll work extra hard on losing the food baby and practicing my Spanish when I get back home.

La Cueva del Chango
Are you really surpised? I went to Cueva for lunch again (it´s the last time...I swear!). I ate so much I wanted to explode. The waiter is so friendly there. I thought he was the owner because he always works so hard.

Pet Shop
How much is that doggy in the window?....On my way home from Wal-Mart, I saw a skinny little dog shivering in the window. It was so ugly, it was cute. (Mandy, I know you will want it.) Should I buy it for you? It looks like a white Oscar.

Souvenirs
I´m not going crazy buying souvenirs because I have been here so many times, but I did find some pink and white marshmallows at Wal-Mart for Harley and Daisy. I also got a little something for Sydney and Pablo.

I found the purse that I saw back in December and I paid $20 because I bought it on 10th Avenue instead of 5th Avenue. It´s is embroidered and it´s really pretty. They normally sell for about $38.

Mickey and Barney
I found two children´s books in Spanish at Wal-Mart. They are really good, especially the Mickey Mouse one. It has the sentences in Spanish and in English and the topic is vaccacione.

When I´m done with them, the kids in the family can all use them to learn Spanish. I think they should learn while they are young. I wish that I did! But I´m still young, right? LOL

Dessert
I ate such a late lunch at Cueva (around 3:30 after my private lesson) so I didn´t really want dinner. I just walked to Rolandi´s in Paseo Del Carmen and had some Flan and a Sangria. Omar is the waiter there who lives in Cancun and he always helps me. I don´t think he´s a Naco because he doesn´t harass me. He´s too young anyhow -- just a nice guy.

Starbucks
I went over to Starbucks to study, but there was a lot of music in the area, which was fine. I didn´t want to sit inside. I´m never in that condo. I should have just pitched a tent. I had a Chai Tea because it was chilly out and I got a lot accomplished.

I wore heels because I was only going across the street, but I couldn´t even get my left foot to move in them, so I had to take them off. I think it has to do with the uneven pavement combined with how much I´ve been walking AND the tumor.
