Day 6 - April 13, 2007

I had the strangest dreams last night. One included my former manager, Denny Eatherton, who was the Vice President of Sales at John O. Butler. Maybe he´s in Playa now! The other one was that Harley and Daisy´s faces were bitten off.

I came to school early again to do my homework assigment because the school gate was locked after I finished having coffee with Tabatha.

I´m wearing my Teva flip flops today, so hopefully, they will give me a little more support since I can´t find anything for my toes. People stare because I kind of drag that foot. I trip a lot too, so I look like I don´t walk very often.

Homework Assignment
My assignment was to write about Chicago.

  1. ¿Como es el clima en Chicago?
El clima en Chicago es hacer frio
  2. ¿Que hay en Chicago?
    Hay mucho museos
    Hay uno Mafioso
    Hay muchas restaurantes y bars
    Hay una Lago Michigan
  3. ¿Donde esta en Chicago?
  4. Esta en de Midwest regione of America del Norte

I Ditched Class
After our break, I left class early to check out Solexico, which is another Spanish school. It was very far away though. Staying at the IH Riviera Maya is pointless (Mary Clare, good thing I was the guinea pig). I don´t want to waste another week.

I walked forever and was so hot and sweaty. I just couldn´t wait to sit in the collectivo.

Gran Bahia Principe Coba
I took the collectivo to the Coba and Annemarie and Jorge invited me to have dinner with them at the Cozumel buffet. That was a good thing since all I had with me was my bathing suit and sweaty outfit that I wore there.

I hung out at the main pool near the pool bar and met a very nice Canadian couple named Colette and Dennis Fortin. They told me that (Babiar)z means bulletin board in French. There was a large group of 20 some-year-olds from Ohio at the pool bar ordering 18 beers at a time. They were having a girl vs. guy drinking contest. They put them in a raft that had holes in it to hold the drinks perfectly. Arbey was a good sport making them all of those drinks. That´s better than woman chaser in Polish! There wasn´t much sun by the swim-up bar, so I moved to the quiet pool and sat in the hot tub. I met two Canadian ladies and a family from Michigan. We chatted a while and had some Strawberry Daquiris. Then, I had to freshen up for dinner, but I didn´t really have anything with me (and trust me, that Secret Clinical did not hold up throughout my long, sweaty walk and visit to the Coba). I did the best that I could and put water on my hair and went to the lobby where Annemarie offered me the courtesy room to take a shower. I was so thankful (even though I didn´t have my Secret Clinical with me). I still had to put on my smelly clothes. I had a Kahlua and cream at the lobby bar and tried to read the newspaper in Spanish before dinner. Then, I met Annemarie and Jorge (but they were at one door and I was at the other). Luckily, it didn´t take too long for us to realize that. Jorge opened a new store in Akumal by Half Moon Bay, which he took us to. It is very cute and I bought a turquoise necklace there (my second purchase). Then, Annemarie and Jorge waited for the bus with me in front of the Coba, but it was late, so the taxi driver said he´d take me for $3.00.

I stopped at Starbucks in Paseo Del Carmen and picked up a Chai Tea Latte and brought it back to the condo with me.

Hola! Just wanted to let you know that I now have my mom and your mom looking at your blog. Aunt Phyllis says she loves how detailed you are with each post and likes reading about your adventures. The pictures are a nice touch. She thinks you will be staying at a palace before the end of your trip. I was able to get your mom on and made it a favorite so she can get back there again. Muchas suerte in your escuela nueva. Adios. Have a margarita for me.

Aunt Char, that´s funny...like the comic strip I sent you. Harley loves chocolate!

Gina, thanks a bunch. You and I think alike. There´s a place in Paseo Del Carmen that has awesome drinks. I see people with them every night, but either I´m too full or too chilly (Aunt Char´s curse!). I do plan on getting one, but I don´t like Tequila, so it will have to be a Daquiri.

More pics to come next week when I have cheap Internet again. I had a new CD made.
