Day 16 - April 23, 2007

When I left the condo to walk to Starbucks, there was a little black Dauschund outside. She seemed kind of timid, but very friendly. After about 5 minutes, she went to the door of the condo and barked and David opened the door. It was his dog!

I asked him for a receipt again as he still hasn´t given me one.

Tour Operator from Chicago
I met the same tour operator from Chicago that I met on my first morning of school. I haven´t seen him the whole time until now.

Matias
Matias from Hotel Eclipse e-mailed me this morning. He wanted to thank me for stopping by. That was a nice surprise!

Gran Bahia Principe Coba
I went to the Coba for the afternoon to use the pool because it was mucho calor again today.

I just relaxed in the quiet pool again while reading my book. My stomach is on fire now from my sunburn.

Luis and Annemarie
I said goodbye to Luis and Annemarie before heading back to town. I wanted to get back early this time.

Luis said that my tan is better than my Spanish.

Collectivo
The ride took forever because the driver drove like my dad. He kept stopping, turning, and talking to the girl sitting next to me. I wanted to tell him to step on it.

Playa Del Carmen
I shopped around some more as I knew that it was my last evening there. I just walked around absorbing everything.

I bought the generic of Retin-A for my wrinkled wrists. The wrinkles really bother me and my doctor prescribed it for me, but the insurance company said that I was "too young" and wanted a fortune for it. I can't believe that the insurance companies have the right to over-ride your doctor. That's another thing I love about Mexico!

Hugo and Maria
Hugo and Maria were were working the corner together selling Time Shares. I stopped to chat for a while and to say "goodbye."

Timeshare Avoidance
If I learned anything, it's that you need to tell the Timeshare Reps that you are 33 years old because the age requirement to attend is 34. It's the easiest and fastest way to avoid getting harrassed.

Postre at Mandarino's
I thought that I would stop for some dessert. I couldn't find anyplace on the beach with a view, so I opted for a place that had good choices instead. I had a Meat Empanada, Bananas Flambee'd with Vanilla Ice Cream and a Diet Coke (I know that is contradictory) for $15.00.

Toilet Paper
When I went back to the condo, the cleaning lady had been there again and she took what I had left of the toilet paper. I didn't care that it was 10:00 p.m. at this point, so I knocked on David's door, and his wife answered. Her name is Claudia. She was very nice and the kids were there too. I really believe she doesn't handle anything regarding the rental of the property because she was clueless that anything was wrong and told me that if I come back, to give them a call. Her husband must handle everything and since he told me that he used to run Hotel Molcas in town, I can understand how he operates things. At least I could wipe my butt now!

He who does not get fun and enjoyment out of every day... needs to reorganize his life.
