My Foot
My foot started acting up again today for no reason. If I had known before today, I could have gone for my last cortisone shot, but I'll have to suck it up! I won't be walking nearly as much as I did in Playa Del Carmen anyhow.
My Middle
I wasn't able to get rid of my middle before this trip either. Hopefully, by the time we go to the Coba in October, I will be more toned. Even my crazy idea of using duct tape to hold it in place didn't work. It was very painful, to say the least, when I had to remove the duct tape.

El Barrio
Mary Clare, Dawn and I had a girl's night out at El Barrio. We had Mexican food and we spoke in Spanish (well, mostly). Mary Clare said my Spanish is "muy bien." Those tapes are really helping. I still only know words here and there, not full sentences, but it's an improvement and things are starting to make more sense. Practice makes perfect!
Mary Clare tells the funniest stories. She has many about her previous jobs.

Dr. Stone Was Right...
I do have the biggest bunions ever! How could I not have noticed before? I was shoe shopping the other night and was looking in a full-lenth mirror when I had this "big" revelation!...Big Bunions, that is!
I guess that I'm going to have to give in and have the surgery in the near future so that my toes don't start overlapping one another like my mom's!
I'm going to install home access so that I can work from home for a week after the surgery. That way I won't have to use vacation time. Ha! Ha! We all know how precious my vacation time is. I will be totally bored otherwise, anyhow. I'll be able to do everything, but he just doesn't want me walking that much the first week after the surgery.

Rapid Results...
Tricked ya!
(That translates to resultados rĂ¡pidos.) No, I didn't learn Spanish that quickly, but Aunt Char lent me her "Rapid Results for Learning Spanish" audio program, which is the best one I have listed to so far.
I started yesterday and I listened to the first CD twice and I started on the second CD today. They are not so boring to listen to and people in the cars around me probably think I'm a little odd as I'm talking to myself in the car.

A Rose from Hugo

Hugo drew me this picture when he was supposed to be helping me with my Spanish. I don't like to be called "Mary," but people in Mexico have a hard time with "Mary Jo." I don't mind Jo or MJ or even Aunt Jo Jo, but I don't even think people are talking to me if they just say "Mary."
Muchas Gracias for creating this as a .jpg for me, Paul!
Pie (not the Ala mode type)
Pie means foot in Spanish!
The doctor said that he thinks the cortisone shots are helping (I had another one today) and he hopes that will be the answer to my problem until I decide to have the bunion surgery. I can have one more shot if it continues to bother me, but that's all they allow. It even feels better than the first time I had the shot because I went for a walk tonight and it wasn't bothersome.
It does make me feel funny after if goes through my system, but I'll just go to bed and forget about it!
