Day 1 - April 8, 2007

Up at 2 a.m. with a connecting flight through Dallas. Something happened to the plane and AA told us they´d get a new one, but then they cancelled it and left us stranded. I finally got on the 4:50 p.m. flight to Cancun. Needless to say, my Easter dinner was at T.G.I.F.s at the Dallas airport and not at Yaxche Maya.

Did not arrive at the condo till 9:00 p.m. I was exhausted and pretty frustrated with the condo. Who would think that a condo in Playacar would not be maintained? I unpacked and discovered some hairs on the bathroom and bedroom floor and that the toilet that was not clean. I had to use soap and water and toilet paper to clean it. Nothing is maintained, which did not make me a happy camper. There is only a window AC unit and it was not that hot upon arrival, so we´ll see if it holds up (or if I hold up) on hotter days!

David Parrish, the condo owner, told me that the President of "Zoom" airlines and his family just stayed there. Who would fly on "Zoom" airlines? I bet he loved the condo. LOL

Customs
Steve, I did not get arrested for bringing my Sunflower Seed Butter to Mexico! They did search my bag, however. You had me worried for nothing.

Highways
Highway 307 (the main highway) is great now. The construction is finished and it's so much faster and less confusing.
