I don´t think they will be celebrating much here, but I wore my Old Navy 2007 4th of July tank today. Hope I don´t antagonize too many people by wearing it, but I am proud of our country and felt the need to wear it today.
Our Morning
Mom & I went to breakfast at the poolside buffet restaurant. (Food baby has already made its presence. My body cannot handle the carbs, that is for sure.) Then, we took a taxi to the Santa Cruz marina. I found the most unusual necklace with my sign on it (the Scorpio). It was made by a local artist and comes with a certificate of authentication, but at $195 U.S. dollars, I still couldn´t buy it. I did like that they had some different pieces that I haven´t seen before.
There was a little market over there too and I was successful and finding my souvenirs there.
Our Afternoon
I walked the beach again and found more seashells while mom went to the pool. We found chairs under the pergola on the beach. We went to lunch at the poolside buffet for lunch and Manuel showed up at our table. He is a perfectionist like Luis. Guess that is a typical trait of Hotel Directors/Sub-Directors. He is a very kind man though.
I walked the beach some more after lunch and there was a guy at the end catching oysters. Then, he served them to people. Gross, but interesting.
Mom went back to the room early again, but then I went up to take a rest in the hammock and read a bit more. It is so relaxing on the hammock listening to the ocean.
We went down to the Premiere because mom wanted a snack.
Our Evening
We had a Piñada at the Lobby bar before dinner.
We had dinner at the Mexican Restaurant tonight and it was really good. I am glad that we have another reservation there. The room was very pretty and we both had steak and Tortilla Soup.
We were going to go to La Crucecita after dinner, but we realized that we only had an hour before it closed up, so we walked across the street again and mom bought a bracelet and I bought an ankle bracelet.

Hi Mary Jo! I am glad you enjoy your trip so much. It is good to be a Travel Agent. I wonder how is the water in the Ocean there? Is it warm, clear and with no algae? The sand I can picture clearly: I brought a container of raw turbinado sugar from Maui back home :-)
I also wonder what is the difference between "virgin" and regular Piña Coladas? Do they still have virgins ther who make them for you?
I should sign off, people will think I am nuts, but the day at work has just started...
Barb, I told you that you would make a great TA too!
The water is on the Pacific side, which is not as blue as the Caribbean, but it is still very beautiful. There are big rocks in the bay and the water is a bluish green as it is rolling in with big white camps against the tan sand. For some reason, the water is a little warmer towards the Gala (next door) than at the Barcelo. The waves are very strong like in Punta Cana. There are fish that you can see though, which are very cool. No algae either.
Virgins in Mexico? LOL The 24-hour Alcoholics are repulsive. We see people drunk all around the clock. I know they are on vacation, but I really don´t want to talk to them. They can´t even hold a conversation.
Any friend of mine is a nut! Don´t worry, no one is more certifiable than me.
