An Unusual Start
At O´Hare they told us that we had to make a stop in Ixtapa. Funny thing is that we were originally supposed to go to Ixtapa, but they said the flight was cancelled. Then, the Pilot told us that it would be 4 hours to Huatulco, so we had a party! Someone made a mistake in giving us that information. They were flying to Ixtapa one more time today and canceling next week. Lucky us! Then, before the let us off the plane, they welcomed us to "Cancun." LOL....at least we got here.
Road to Terabithea
This is the movie that they played on the way there. Once again, I do not think that they should play sad movies on airplanes. I had tears pouring down my face. I wasn't even going to watch it because the name is odd and I thought it was a cartoon. When it started, it looked pretty good and it was.
Huatulco Airport
We got off on the runway and the airport looked like Punta Cana´s from the outside, but it was so tiny on the inside. We got through very quickly, but we got the red light, so we had to have all of our luggage inspected.
Weather
When we arrived, it was overcast and nice, but sticky. Now, it is freaking hot! Still overcast because it rained last night.
Solo Traveler
There was a girl on our bus who was alone and asked my mom and I if she could eat with us. Of course, we said, "yes," but she continued to follow us everywhere. Then, when we discovered that she smoked, I was so hoping that she would´t join us for dinner. I sure hope I am not that obnoxiuos when I travel alone!
Resort
Now, this is the best part!....(Gina, you will be very sad.)As we were following the Bell Boy to our room, I heard the ocean and didn´t think that we could possibly have a room near the ocean, but we do! We have a 2 room suite (room 545 & 547)with 2 bathrooms. We have 3 balconies with a private jacuzzi on the balcony and a hammock. Guess where I´ll be tonight? Wait till you see the views from our room too! The resort is older, but it is a nice size. The buffet does not have a lot of choices, but it is good so far. I can get creative. You pick out your meat or fish and they cook it for you. I am thinking of a nice grilled chicken salad. They make very good Piña Coladas here. (Mary Clare, thanks for the little tips on how to do the Spanish accents on the keyboard.)
Before dinner, I received a call from Manuel Ramos, the Submanager of the hotel checking to see how everything was and he told me that he would like to meet me. I realized after we hung up that we didn´t say when. LOL
We had some drinks in the Lobby Bar after dinner where they have a live band, but we went to our room early because it was a long day and I had another really bad migraine. I try not to let them ruin my fun, but by 10 o´clock I was in bed with a cold beer can on my head (that is a Polish ice pack...no offense Barb...I can say that).
I was going to sleep on the hammock on the balcony, but when I saw the lightening, I came in.
It is sooo awesome to constantly hear the waves from the ocean while we are in our room. I love sleeping to that sound.
Shopping Area
There are few little shops across the street that we walked to. Not much over there, but it was a nice walk. Mom also used her phone card over there to call home, so it is nice and convenient.

Mary Jo, keep it coming, we are waiting for more!
Aaaa... one more thing... why are we still in Playa Del Carmen? Let us immerse ourselves in Huatulco!
Barb, you crack me up. I hope that you blog when you are in Poland. I want to read all about it.
You know my heart is always in PDC. This place is incredible though. It is way different. It is southern MX.
Stay tuned!
