Azul Blue - Day 2

I woke up at 5:30 and took a migraine pill, which did the trick. My nose has been going crazy still.

We went to breakfast at The Globe, which is the only breakfast option. We both had omelettes...YUMM-O! Oh, and freshly squeezed O.J.!

I Ran Over Myself Today
Went to the ruins in Tulum today(wasn't sure I could make it that far)with Alex from the resort. It was overcast when we started out, but Gina said "it was hot as HELL!" We were sweating. My bicylcle needed an alignment. When we arrived at the entrance to the ruins, we had to jog around the gate, and Alex went first with no problemo. However, it was bumpy and hilly and we had to make a quick left around the gate. Well, my handle bars and tire were out of whack (going towards the right) so when I had to make a sharp left, I fell to the ground and the handle bar went into my arm and the rubber handle fell off and the tire ran over my right leg. Luckily, Gina, who was behind me, did not fall over me too or it could have been worse. She was not supportive LOL....she was not concerned about how I was, she laughed her butt off! Seriously, I have issues walking, so it should't surprise anyone that I can't ride a bike. We have pictures of my war wounds. Surprisingly, it did not hurt at all, but it's not going to look very pretty when I wear my dresses.

We freshened up and Noé, the Rooms Division Manager (formerly of the Bahia Principe) took us on a tour of the other rooms at Azul Blue. We really like our room (Superior) and its location. (I was surprised to discover that Rachael Ray's room was not much nicer. She did have a couch and it was slightly wider, but not a huge difference).

We went to lunch at The Globe Restaurant and had an amazing dessert (postré). Some friends we met are leaving today and the pool is pretty empty, so we are going to head over there now.

The pool was pretty empty today. Gina picked the double-sized lounge chair. Freddy, the Pool Butler fixed our towels and brought us drinks, but he wouldn't give me a foot massage. LOL He was very attentive and always remembered our names. Gina met some Teacher friends at the Pool Bar (1/2 of the guests here are Travel Agents and 1/2 are Teachers). When it started to look like a storm was brewing, I decided to go back to the room and I sat in the little room with the jacuzzi tub in our room.

Annemarie called me and we're going to go the Bahia Principe for dinner on Wednesday night.

While getting ready for dinner, I realized that the buckle on my new shoe was broken. It was missing the little silver thing that goes in the hole. I had to use tape to hold it in place.

We went to The Globe restaurant for dinner tonight and there were only two other tables that were full. Everyone must order room service. Food Baby is much bigger this time and I'm going to have to work super hard when I get home. I had a Duck appetizer and Flank Steak for dinner and Creme Brulee' for dessert.

The Tinto Bar is absolutely empty...it's very odd. Gina thinks they are playing a joke on us. One couple was getting a Moonlight Massage tonight...very romantic! Thank God Gina and I chose not to do that. LOL

We went back to the room and attempted to watch "Click" again. Maybe we'll get to see the whole movie by the end of our trip!
